Mon 21st Jan Photoshop for Improvers

This tutorial is intended for those members who have used Photoshop for a while and now wish to take a more progressive or creative approach. Topics to be covered will include cloning, both corrective and creative, advanced masking, sharpening (including USM) and colourising. Those attending should be familiar with basic Photoshop techniques, such as the use of layers (including adjustment layers and layer masking) and the fundamentals of cloning. To aid illustration of these points I may be able to utilise a few images that have previously given their authors problems. If you have such an image, please initially bring 'before and after' prints (A5?), together with a 'screen grab' if possible to show me at any Thursday meeting: if you do so, please arrive early.

  Mon 18th Feb

Developing work to a theme

The fourth session being run by Brian.

  Tue 26th Feb

Practical Studio Portrait Session

This will be a practical session hosted by our own John Feehan, an experienced Portrair Photographer. John will demonstrate lighting techniques starting from a single on-camera flash, grandually building up to a three-flash setup. One or two models will be available for the evening. A monitor will be available during the evening for instant viewing of the images taken. Participants are asked to bring a small on-camera flash with them (if their camera does not have one built-in). This will be used to trigger the flash heads without the need for a sync cable. Please note that, as always, numbers will be strictly limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. The charge for this session will be slightly higher than for other workshops because of (a) travel expenses of the model(s) and (b) use of a larger that usual room for the workshop.
