Nine Clubs Competition Rules  (Back)

1. This is an annual slide competition for nine local Clubs.

2. Bracknell Camera Club is responsible for organizing the event, including arranging for a venue, providing suitable projection equipment and booking a judge. Normally, the date of the following season's event will be announced during each holding of the competition.

3. Should any Club fail to make an entry for two successive years Bracknell Camera Club shall have the option of inviting another Club to replace the defaulting Club.

4. A Club entry shall consist of 6 (six) 35mm. slides, suitably mounted; they must be correctly spotted. Either plastic or glass mounts may be used, in any variety the Club wishes. All slides must not have been previously entered in the competition.

5. Each participating Club is expected to send a representative to the event; this person will be responsible for keeping a record of their Club's scores on the evening, using a score sheet provided by Bracknell Camera Club.

6. Each year, the slides will be listed in numerical order from one to 54, determined alphabetically by Club name and then by numerical order within a Club entry. The sequence in which they are projected will then be determined by randomly generating the numbers from one to 54.

7. The judge will award each slide a mark out of 10. The Club with the highest total for their 6 slides will be declared to be the winner.

8. In the event of a tie, the Club with the most tens will be the winner. If this fails to break the tie, then a similar process using the next highest score will be used, then the next highest and so on if so required. If the tie cannot be broken in this way, then the Clubs involved will share the trophy for that year by holding it for equal periods.

9. The winning Club has the responsibility of having their name engraved on the Trophy; they are also responsible for seeing that the Trophy is available for presentation at the following season's event.
